Nitrogen Atmosphere
N₂Nitrogen is the most cost-effective inert gas for preventing oxidation and decarburization. Ideal for processes where a chemically neutral environment is required without the expense of argon.
An atmosphere furnace is a specialized thermal processing system that heats materials inside a precisely controlled gaseous environment — preventing oxidation, enabling reduction reactions, or creating inert conditions that standard open-air furnaces cannot achieve.
Brother Furnace's atmosphere furnaces are built with hermetically sealed chambers, integrated gas flow management, and intelligent PID temperature control, making them the preferred choice for universities, R&D institutes, and advanced materials manufacturers worldwide.
Our atmosphere furnaces are engineered to work with the most common protective and reactive gases used in advanced materials processing. Each gas type opens up distinct process possibilities.
Nitrogen is the most cost-effective inert gas for preventing oxidation and decarburization. Ideal for processes where a chemically neutral environment is required without the expense of argon.
As a noble gas, argon provides the most chemically inert environment available. Essential for processing reactive metals such as titanium, zirconium, and rare-earth alloys at high temperatures.
Hydrogen is a powerful reducing agent that removes surface oxides from metal parts, enabling bright, clean surfaces after heat treatment. Our hydrogen furnaces include integrated safety systems as standard.
A blend of nitrogen and hydrogen (typically 95%/5%), forming gas balances cost and reducing power. It is widely used for annealing stainless steel and electronic component processing.
Many models support an initial vacuum purge followed by inert gas backfill, achieving ultra-high atmosphere purity (<10 ppm O₂). This two-step process is critical for sensitive materials research.
For carburizing, atmosphere control research, or specialized thermochemical processes, our furnaces can be configured for CO, CO₂, methane, or any custom gas blend with appropriate safety provisions.
Every Brother Furnace atmosphere furnace is designed with the researcher in mind — combining robust construction, intelligent control, and comprehensive safety into one reliable platform.
Programmable 30-step temperature profiles with ramp, soak, and cool-down control. Accuracy within ±1°C for repeatable, publication-quality results.
High-grade stainless steel or alumina tube chambers with vacuum-rated flanges and silicone O-ring seals, ensuring gas integrity throughout the entire process cycle.
Hydrogen leak detection, automatic gas shutoff, over-temperature protection, and pressure relief valve — all standard on every unit. CE certified for global compliance.
Calibrated rotameter or optional mass flow controller (MFC) ensures accurate, repeatable gas delivery rates. Dual-port design supports gas mixing directly at the inlet.
High-purity ceramic fiber insulation minimizes heat loss and enables rapid heating rates up to 30°C/min while keeping the outer shell cool and safe to touch.
USB / RS-485 interface with free PC software for remote monitoring, real-time curve display, and automatic data export to CSV — essential for research documentation.
Choose from resistance wire (≤1200°C), silicon carbide SiC (≤1600°C), or molybdenum disilicide MoSi₂ (≤1800°C) elements — matched to your exact temperature requirement.
Chamber dimensions, power supply voltage, gas port configuration, and control system can all be customized to match your specific laboratory workflow and space constraints.
From academic research to advanced industrial R&D, our atmosphere furnaces serve a wide range of disciplines where controlled thermal processing is critical.
With over 15 years of dedicated furnace manufacturing experience, Brother Furnace has become a trusted partner for laboratories and industrial R&D centers across more than 80 countries. We don't just sell furnaces — we deliver complete thermal process solutions.

Answers to the most common questions our customers ask before selecting and ordering a vacuum sintering furnace.
Our standard models support nitrogen (N₂), argon (Ar), hydrogen (H₂), and forming gas (N₂/H₂ blends). Certain models can also be configured for CO, CO₂, methane, or custom gas mixtures. Please specify your gas requirements when requesting a quote so we can ensure the correct safety provisions are included.
Yes. All Brother Furnace hydrogen-compatible models include a hydrogen gas leak detector, automatic gas shutoff valve, pressure relief valve, and an exhaust burn-off port as standard safety features. Our furnaces are CE certified and designed in compliance with international hydrogen safety standards.
Box-type atmosphere furnaces have a larger, rectangular chamber suitable for processing multiple samples or larger workpieces simultaneously. Tube-type furnaces use a sealed cylindrical tube (alumina or quartz) which achieves higher gas purity and is better suited for small samples, powder materials, and processes requiring vacuum + gas backfill. Tube furnaces also typically reach higher maximum temperatures.
Yes. All models include a USB or RS-485 interface and free PC software for real-time temperature curve display, remote profile programming, and automatic data export to CSV format. An optional Ethernet interface with SCADA compatibility is available on high-end models.
Standard models are available in 220V single-phase and 380V three-phase, 50/60Hz configurations. We can customize the power supply to match your local grid specification — including 110V, 208V, 240V, or 415V — at no extra charge when specified at the time of order.
Standard models ship within 7–15 business days after order confirmation. Custom configurations typically require 20–30 business days. We ship worldwide via sea freight, air freight, or express courier. Shipping terms available include EXW, FOB, CIF, and DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) depending on your destination.
